Bride Wedding Speech – Where Would I Even Start?

February 16th, 2010

Bride wedding speech – You really want to give one, but where are you going to get the necessary time from?! The day of your dreams is almost here and everything is slowly but surely falling into place. You are stressed out and a half by now, but you know it’s worth it. With all the running around and organizing and fitting and checking on . . . there is still that niggling little thought in the back of your head: the bride’s wedding speech. You got nothing so far. There is so much you’d like to say, so many ways to express your love for your future better half and so many people to thank. . . If only you could find a way to put it all on paper in a brief, funny and great-sounding way. Sigh!

You and your fiancée sat down together and decided that it would be a great idea to have a bride and groom wedding speech. It really sounded like a good idea then. You’d both write up your part, you’d practice it a couple of times together and then you’d dazzle the audience with this funny and entertaining speech. If you remember right that was about a month and a half ago. You’ve seen your fiancée scrawl something on a yellow pad the other day and he was all mysterious about it and you were busy dealing with the choice of flower arrangements.

Now the wedding is just around the cornerand your mind is fully occupied with pretty much everything but the wedding speech. You wish you know where to even start. You even checked different places for some bride wedding speech examples, but none of sounded like it would come from you.

In the end you actually asked your mother for advice, which she loved of course and dropped everything at once to help you out, but afterall that didn’t really go anywhere. Guess Mom’s not a professional speech writer either. So basically you’re right where you started: with squat. And to top it all off, by now you’re just days away from the wedding day. Well, what you need is a plan – and right now too!.

Do you recall the list of things you wanted to express to your future husband in your brides wedding speech, how much you love him and all the ways you wanted to thank every one for their part in making this amazing and long-awaited day become a reality?

Well don’t start with the speech itself. Take a day to write down everything that goes through your mind that you might want to mention in your wedding speech. Scribble it onto a yellow pad or even a napkin if necessary, just get it all on paper. There doesn’t have to be any kind of order to it. For now it doesn’t even really have to make any sense. Just write it all down and also every person’s nameyou wish to mention (later on check with your mom and your mother-in-law if you got everybody, they’ll know).

At the end of this day steal a few moments away from everything, get your favorite kind of coffee (or whichever beverage you prefer . . .), some nice music and sit down with your sheet (or sheets) of notes. If you’ll have a look at my next post, I will outline a basic structure for a bride wedding speech; a line of thought to follow that will take you safely from A to E without getting lost or taking too many detours.
