Tulle Wedding Decorations
Monday, August 11th, 2008 | Wedding Decorations | No Comments
Tulle is a fantastic material for making wedding decorations, it doesn’t fray when cut so there is no sewing involved. Tulle comes in many colours and has many uses as wedding decorations. It can be bought by the metre on the Internet or in material shops.
Tulle is a man-made material which is characterised by an hexagonal weave which is why it’s perfect for making quick wedding decorations as it doesn’t fray.
Tulle Wedding Decorations - ideas
Tulle wrapped around the top of your chairs or over a chair cover at your wedding reception can easily transform a plan over used chair cover into some more appropriate for your own wedding. A width of tulle 12 or 24 inches is best for this.
Place the cut of tulle against the back of the chair with a small overlap at the top of the chair and bring the ends round to tie it at the back. You could also pin a silk flower to the knot to add more decoration. But tulle decorated wedding chairs look very pretty on their own.
Your favours could be wrapped in tulle and finished with a coordinating ribbon to bring colour to your tables as eye catching wedding decorations. You can buy circles of tulle for this purpose at wedding supply shops or local craft shops. Or you can buy them ready made, it depends on how much you want to spend and how much time you have.
You could tie tulle around the ends of the church pews as wedding decorations to help set the theme for your wedding. You could finish this off with large silk flowers pinned to the tulle. Or as an alternative to this tie swags of tulle around the end of the church pews to enhance the aisle. You need to consider an alternative way for your guest to get to their seats. Often guests walk down the aisle and into the pew to take their seat, your ushers will have to direct them to walking down the side of the church to gain access.
You find it difficult to buy ready made tulle wedding decorations on the web, mainly tulle is used to add wedding decoration to church pews or chairs, but will a little thought you can use tulle to create cheap but effective wedding decorations.
Decorating the Wedding Reception
Sunday, August 10th, 2008 | Wedding Decorations | No Comments
Decorating the wedding reception is important as decorating a church , you will need to speak to the wedding organiser to discuss the types of decorations that you may use. I remember when I was organising my own wedding we were only allowed floating candles to decorate the wedding reception due to health and safety requirements, but every wedding venue is different.
There are more wedding decorations available to decorate your wedding reception venue, such as balloons and flowers for the overall decoration and many items to decorate your reception tables such as unique favours, table runners, and other wedding table decorations. You can also decorate entrances with arches commonly created from balloon, but if you can afford it an arch of silk or fresh flowers would look amazing and will not be forgotten.
Tips on decorating your Wedding reception venue
Put yourself in the place of your guests, what is the first thing they will see when they enter the room? Make this a focal point, as the wedding cake, an extravagant collection of balloons, crystals or flowers. If the wedding reception venue is large then you can use more adventurous wedding decorations. If the venue has high ceilings, you may want to add height to your wedding decorations by using clusters of balloons.
Church Wedding Decorations
Thursday, August 7th, 2008 | Wedding Decorations | No Comments
Pretty much all churches look the same on the inside, they all have a aisle, usually stained glass windows and a space at the front where you will be married. Many couples choose to decorate the church, they want to make it look different to the way it looks when they go for Sunday service. This article on church wedding decorations will hopefully give you some ideas on how to decorate the church on your wedding day.
Church Wedding Decorations - Ideas
Some of the most simplest church wedding decorations are the most effective. For example buy a roll of 12 inch wide organza and tie it in loose bows at the end of each pew. This is a cheap and effective way of incorporating your wedding colours into your church venue.
If you have a wedding theme you could use something to represent it, tied to the pew with ribbon or organza. For example if you were having a Christmas wedding, why not use baubles attached with ribbon.
Flowers are the most obvious choice for church wedding decorations, but they can be expensive, so if you have a small budget opt for silk flowers and make your own arrangement.
You may also be allowed to use candles to enhance the aisle as church wedding decorations but please make sure that they are safe and won’t easily be knocked over.
How about blown up photographs of yourselves that have a general romantic feel. Your wedding day is about showing how much you love each other and it will be nice for your guests to see how much you were in love back then as they watch you tie the knot.
Wedding Decoration Ideas

Taking care of the details will help make your wedding successful, this is especially true of your wedding reception decorations as guests have time to focus on all aspects of your wedding decorations. It is this that will subconsciously effect your guests perception of your wedding and since you want to ensure your wedding is remembered so here are a few wedding reception decoration ideas.
Add water lilies to floating candles to give this classic wedding reception decoration idea a unusual twist.
If your having your wedding reception in a garden or marque continue the garden theme onto your reception tables by placing a miniature bonsai tree in the centre, you could also raffle them off at the end of the night.
Instead of balloon arches have arches of silk flowers interweaving with satin ribbon for a more romantic feel.
Decorate cheap pilliar candles by twisting plasic beads on to craft wire and wrapping half way up the candle.
Another wedding reception decoration idea can be using tulle to add character to chair covers.
Of course most people are restricted by their budget. By thinking laterally you will come up with beautiful effective wedding reception decorations without blowing a hole in your wedding budget.
I hope this short article has given you some inspiration for your own wedding reception decoration ideas. Please feel free to add to these wedding decoration ideas by adding a comment.
